Autosport International Race Car Show 2017

Thursday 12th January 2017 was our Trident Towing trip to the renowned Autosport International 2017 race car show. We met with Brian James Trailers, who have a stand there every year and were showcasing some revisions to their already much-applauded Race Transporter RT5 and RT6 enclosed car trailer range.

A punch deck has been fitted to the flooring inside to allow over-wheel ratchet straps to be fitted to the car inside:

The electric winch is now adjustable so it can be placed in the most optimum position to suit the car being loaded:

The rear light surrounds have also been upgraded:

The Brian James Race Transporter trailers are already the market leaders in enclosed car trailers and these revisions are going to improve these even further.

There was also so much to see at the Autosport show and we couldn’t help but have a quick wander around! Here are just a few of the many show highlights we saw on that day, together with some website links for extra information on these amazing vehicles.

The Mono, made by BAC (Briggs Automotive Company) in Liverpool and showcasing the best of British design and manufacturing;

Beautiful old-school Ford RS500 Cosworth! There was a collection there of these iconic cars – click on the link below for more information and driving test:

The brand-new Ford GT with 3.5litre Ecoboost engine and over 600bhp;

Aston Martin DB11, with 5.9 litre V12 engine and 600bhp;

Lamborghini Adventador, customised by Japanese car body shop Liberty Walk;

The “Mental Breakdown” split-Screen VW Camper dragster! Made by Intergalactic Custom Shop and carrying a 2000bhp supercharged V8, this had covered the ¼ mile in 7.1 seconds at 196mph late last year!

Many thanks to our colleagues at Brian James Trailers for the opportunity to be at the Autosport this year and we hope to be there for the next one!
